Discussions autour d'une grillade.

 

Samedi soir, j’étais invité à une grillade près de Rennes, à Saint-Grégoire, et j’y ai retrouvé quelques amis que je n’avais pas revus depuis quelques années. Nous avions prévu de ne pas parler politique, mais (bien sûr…) nous n’avons pas résisté au-delà de l’apéritif… Il faut dire que la prochaine présidentielle de 2007 nourrit les débats sans fin autour des candidats supposés, déclarés ou potentiels, et des réformes qu’il faudrait à la France pour affronter les défis de la globalisation dans les meilleures conditions : or, la plupart des invités déclaraient, sans fard ni précaution oratoire, qu’ils ne voyaient aucune raison pour se déplacer le jour de l’élection, les uns avouant qu’ils ne votaient plus depuis 2002, les autres qu’ils n’avaient même plus de carte d’électeur. D’autres encore annonçaient leur intention de voter pour des candidats « contestataires » : les victimes de la soirée étaient… Sarkozy et Royal, mais, surtout, un système politique et un « pays légal » qui semblent dépassés par les événements et inadaptés à notre temps.

Or, la plupart des personnes présentes à cette soirée grillade sont bien intégrées dans la société : chefs d’entreprise ; professeurs ; agents immobiliers ; etc. Elles ne sont pas des « exclus » qui pourraient considérer, à tort ou à raison, que la démocratie électorale n’a pas d’impact sur leur condition de vie, mais des acteurs importants de la vie sociale, producteurs de richesses et moteurs de la vie économique, d’après les revues d’information.

Aujourd’hui, que cette « classe travailleuse » (formule qui n’a pas à grand-chose à voir avec celle qu’évoque mal à propos Arlette Laguiller) soit tentée par l’abstention militante n’est pas un signe de bonne santé politique, mais plutôt d’un vrai malaise, d’une grande méfiance à l’égard des institutions et, au-delà, de l’exercice démocratique lui-même : voici la fameuse « fatigue démocratique » dont on parlait beaucoup à la veille de 2002 mais qui semble bien se muer peu à peu en véritable rejet du politique, d’un politique dont le « peuple souverain » qui en est officiellement, en démocratie, le « maître » (mais n’est-ce pas là une simple illusion, voire une tromperie entretenue depuis la Révolution française ? En tout cas, il me semble que c’est bien une erreur de perspective), se sent dépossédé. C’est cette crise de la représentation qui fait de la prochaine présidentielle (mais sommes-nous vraiment sortis depuis 2002 de cette campagne présidentielle permanente ?) un théâtre d’ombres et d’illusions, et qui décourage ceux qui, pourtant, croient encore en notre pays et en ses possibilités géopolitiques et économiques dans un monde incertain.

Il me semble de plus en plus que la Monarchie active « à la française » est le moyen institutionnel de sortir de cette absurde situation, en dégageant la magistrature suprême de l’Etat des jeux partisans et « personnels », et en organisant, par une redistribution des pouvoirs (électifs à la base, héréditaire au sommet), une vie politique qui ne soit pas seulement concentrée autour de la conquête du Pouvoir…

Les gens que vous avez cotoyé au barbecue breton étaient pour la plupart des "professionnels".
Un professionnel réclame d'autrui, compétence, répondant et bon sens en toute chose. C'est justement ce qui fait défaut à la nomenklatura aux manettes.
Elle navigue sur une dette publique dont le service représente le deuxième budget de l'Etat. Elle parle de tout et ne règle jamais rien.

Cette large désaffection du politique remet en cause sérieusement le socle de légitimité de tout candidat qui peut accéder au second tour des présidentielles avec 15-18% des suffrages exprimés, soit peu de chose par rapport à la population en âge de voter.
D'où par la suite le réflexe populaire de récupérer cette légitimité dans la rue, puisque manifestement le nouveau locataire de l'Elysée n'en a pas beaucoup.

L'escroquerie démocratique tourne alors à la pitrerie.
